Beneath Your Mighty Hand | Official Music Video (Worship Experience)

Experience a time of quiet reflection and intimate worship with this new music video, "Beneath Your Mighty Hand," a song crafted from my own heartfelt personal prayer and a dedicated study on the biblical nature of humility. This project was born from a desire to explore the posture of the heart that recognizes absolute dependence on God, drawing on the paradox that we are lifted up when we willingly choose to be brought low. The Symbolism of the Imagery The visual for this video is designed to capture a profound spiritual truth: the contrast between our natural perspective and God’s objective reality. In the image, the man prays in the dim light of a single, flickering candle—a symbol of his humble, earthly reliance on what he can see and control. The radiant beams of light above him, however, represent the manifestation of God’s glory. This light is visible to us as viewers, yet it remains hidden from the man in his "natural" realm. It is a visual narrative of our lives: often feeling alone in the quiet dark, while completely encompassed by the overwhelming, unseen glory of God. Scriptural Basis This song and its accompanying imagery are grounded in a tapestry of biblical truth:
  • The Foundation of Lowliness: Psalm 22:6 and 138:6 remind us that God draws near to the lowly, while Psalm 25:9 teaches that He guides those who humbly seek His way.
  • The Principle of Divine Exaltation: The central theme is rooted in 1 Peter 5:6, which commands us to "humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you," echoing the truths found in James 4:10 and Luke 14:11.
  • Relational Humility: The practical expression of this heart-state is found in Philippians 2:3-4, which calls us to count others as more significant than ourselves, following the self-emptying example of Christ.
Scriptural Basis
2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 12:1-2; Romans 8:29; and Colossians 3:9-10.

Beneath Your Mighty Hand (lyrics)

[Verse 1]
Lord, I bring no crown of mine,
I leave my own designs behind.
I lay my pride before Your throne,
I rest in grace that makes me whole
Oh, teach me how to see through You,
And walk in all that’s pure and true.

[Chorus]
Beneath Your mighty hand I bow;
Shape my heart and teach me now.
Keep me lowly in Your sight,
Lead me in Your holy light.
Let me seek Your will each day;
Teach me, Lord, Your humble way.

[Verse 2]
I count my neighbor more than me,
Greater in their dignity.
Learning the rhythm of a servant's heart,
With patience and with gentleness,
In the midst of my distress,
I learn to love the way You do.

[Chorus]
Beneath Your mighty hand I bow;
Shape my heart and teach me now.
Keep me lowly in Your sight,
Lead me in Your holy light.
Let me seek Your will each day;
Teach me, Lord, Your humble way.

[Bridge]
I humble myself beneath Your mighty hand;
I seek Your face and not Your hand.
If I lift myself, I'll surely fall,
But as I empty out my all,
The One who sits above the sun
Will raise me up when all is done.

[Outro]
Humble hearts, open hands,
According to Your perfect plans.
In Your time You'll lift me high;
In You, my God, I'm satisfied.

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"
